About the Institute

Independent by structure. Accountable by record.

Hypernovelty Institute is an independent practitioner-research organization operated by Jordan Finneseth. It studies how fast technical change intersects with governance, evidence, infrastructure, work, learning, and public life.

What HNI is

A working research and publication system.

HNI combines signal monitoring, bounded experiments, technical reports, source ledgers, forecasts, and public-facing analysis. It is built around work that can be inspected and corrected.

What HNI does not claim

No borrowed status.

HNI is not a university, does not claim accreditation, and does not imply peer review, nonprofit status, or external ethics oversight where none exists.

Accountability

How the name earns meaning.

Methods before prestige

Protocols, competing hypotheses, locked outcomes, evidence, validation, and visible limitations come before claims of authority.

Funding is disclosed

HNI may seek grants, computing credits, partnerships, consulting, or sponsorship. Support does not buy a predetermined result and is disclosed when relevant.

AI is disclosed

AI systems may assist research and production. Named humans remain accountable for evidence, consent, conflicts, corrections, and publication.

Contact & collaboration

Research, replication, and technical evaluation inquiries.

HNI is open to credible replication targets, tool-evaluation access, computing-credit programs, research collaborations, and consulting problems that permit honest publication boundaries.
